ADG Ventures into International Waters with Surfing!
Aquatic Development Group (ADG) recently had the pleasure of hosting the Albany Businesses Review at our headquarters in Cohoes, NY! The spotlight was on our latest innovation, EpicSurf, a deep-water stationary surf wave. This feature article not only highlights EpicSurf but also dives into ADG's rich history of designing and building waterparks and manufacturing over 550 wave systems worldwide.
As ADG ventures into global expansion, our COO, Bruce Quay, sheds light on several projects underway across North America, Europe, and the MENA region. Since the 1970s, ADG has been at the forefront of building wave pools and wave systems for various venues. In recent years, we've also manufactured and installed over a hundred FlowRider sheet waves, offering a thrilling boogie-boarding experience on a thin sheet of water.
In stark contrast to the FlowRider, EpicSurf introduces a deep-water wave experience, adjustable from 2 to 5 feet in height, enabling riders to utilize real surfboards with fins. Our first model, manufactured at our Cohoes headquarters, has welcomed an array of enthusiastic surfers over successive summers, including the ISA Senegalese Surfing Federation, adaptive surfers, and even electronic musician, deadmau5, and more!
According to Bruce Quay, ADG's COO, surfing's rise to Olympic status in 2020 has fueled its global popularity. While ADG has primarily targeted North American markets in the past, our focus has shifted in recent years towards international markets, particularly in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) regions. Quay describes MENA as booming market for water park and entertainment development, emphasizing ADG's active involvement in trade shows and ventures.
As ADG continues to make waves in the international surfing and waterpark scene, we are looking forward to many projects ahead!
