  • Mechanism: Pneumatic systems generate waves using air. High-powered air pumps push air into a chamber, which forces water down and creates a wave. 

  • Advantages: 

    • Low Maintenance: With fewer moving parts and no equipment in direct contact with pool water, these systems require minimal upkeep, making them ideal for seasonal operations (90-100 days). 

    • Efficiency: Reduced downtime ensures consistent performance, enhancing the guest experience.


Hydraulic Systems: 

  • Mechanism: The original wave generation technology, hydraulic systems use mechanical means such as waving walls or water tanks that dump water to create waves. 

  • Advantages: 

    • Dynamic Wave Effects: Capable of producing more dramatic solitary waves.

  • Disadvantages:

    • Higher Maintenance: More moving parts and equipment contact with water necessitate frequent maintenance.

    • Increased Costs: Initial construction and operational costs are higher compared to pneumatic systems.

  • Multi-Chamber Systems: Offer greater flexibility and a range of up to 8 wave patterns, the most popular being: 

    • Rollers: All chambers fire simultaneously, creating large, rolling waves perfect for body surfing and leisure. 

    • Diamonds: Chambers fire in sequence, producing diamond-shaped waves that add a unique experience. 

    • Double Diamonds: A wider diamond pattern created by alternating the outer chambers.

Wave height is influenced by the installed horsepower in combination with the pool's design, ensuring waves stay within the pool for maximum enjoyment and safety.
